Photographer's Comments
This photo was taken in my house using a DIY Lightbox as in the previous posting. I placed a red paper as the background this time, as white background doesn't really bring out the shell. I adjusted the lighting position, as to avoid the same mistakes that I made in the previous picture. Photo was taken handheld, and minor adjustment to the contast and colour saturation was made to bring out the colour of the shell. Comments on how to improve this photo, composition wise or post processing is highly appreciated.

Red is just too strong a colour for this shot in my opinion. Hehe. Thing is your editing (i.e. adjustments to colour contrast and saturation) has a few negative fx to the photo namely the obvious outline at the edges of the shell and some pixelation to the overall photo. I would suggest using layers/masks in PP during editing. That way you can play around and adjust your background to bring out the shell without compromising the quality of the photo much. The essence of the camera settings and photography techniques is overshadowed by your editing at this point. Sorry Sharma. Just my 2 sens.

Anon 1,
Thank you.

The colour of the shell is like that, not terbakar.

Anon 2,
Thank you.

I agreed with you on this. Red is much too strong as a background. Should have used blue. I did not use white as it would not have the desired contrast to the shell. Over PP eh... I noticed that too.. I though of re-PPing it and posting up again. But decided against it. Rather leave it here to be commented so that I can work on it next time.

p.s. I owe you one lunch for being my loyal commentor. hehehe.. claim it from me the next time I am down at your office.
