Photographer's Comments
Weather is terrible here in Kota Kinabalu at the moment, and it is making it quite a task to take a photo outdoor. This is another seashell in my collection. Decided to go close this time to try and capture the texture of the seashell. I used the Raynox DCR 250 close up filter as I do not own any macro lenses at the moment. Picture taken in my DIY Lightbox to maximize the light and was shot handheld. Comments on how to improve this photo, composition wise or post processing is highly appreciated.

nice photo dude...
Unfortunately, I don't quite think you managed to achieve what you set out to do with this picture. The texture of the shell is barely visible and the focused area is far too small. I'm sensing you over-editted this photo with the blur filter. I think this shot would be even better if the blurring were more towards the edges of the shell to give the shell's texture ample visibility and the blurring more subtle seeing that this is after all a close up shot. But lighting wise I think you did it better this time (especially sans the red paper - see, white does still bring out the shell).
Joe,
Learning bro... thanx for dropping by.
Elixelle,
I did not over edit the photo using the blur filter. What I did instead it I used a wide aperture setting, thus limiting the depth of field. Btw, I initially shot this using a blue paper, but then decided to remove it and shoot with plain whith background.
