Found this interesting looking beetle in my office compound today I didn't carry my camera along to work, so I took the beetle and some leafs back home. Photo was taken in my DIY Lightbox. Did a look-up on Wikipedia and more details of this Green Beetle (cetonia aurata) can be found at this link. (Wiki : cetonia aurata). Did some sharpening of image, increased the contrast and increased the saturation as well to bring out the colour of the beetle. Comments on how to improve this photo, composition wise or post processing is highly appreciated.
Note : No beetle was harmed in this photography session. The beetle was released unharmed after the photoshoot.

Nice photo... Expected from a good DSLR camera...
i like that you can see the detailing on the beetle as well as the leaf. it gives it a more 3D appeal. green on green. shows the many wonders of nature (i.e. camouflaging). your light box works great.
btw, your note should be "harm" not "hard".

SLR camera is just a tool to take a photo. Without the correct technique (composition, post production, lighting, metering, aperture, etc), even a high end camera cannot do justice to an object.

Thanx for the compliments. Really looking forward to your comments each day. This is my favorite shot so far. Really nailed the lighting and the details this time. Either I start bring bugs back home, or I carry my box around with me. LOL...!!!
