I was at a site in Tanjung Batu, Kota Marudu today and on the way back, I had the chance to view this spectacular sunset. We (my colleagues and myself) were on our way to another site when I saw this. Luckily I had my camera with me and was able to capture the sunset. Noise level is quite high but not that noticeable at ISO 800. I had to increase the ISO as I didn't have my tripod with me. Lucky me, the boat provided an interesting focal point and the silhouette of the boat is just beautiful. However, I feel that I might have overdone the contrast and saturation. Comments on how to improve this photo, composition wise or post processing is highly appreciated.

What's the pole in the water next to the boat? The fact that the boat, as you said is just a silhouette and its reflection are fantastic. You could say the increased saturation and contrast are a stark paradox against the natural sky, as one is man-made and the other is nature at her best!

I am guessing the pole is where the boatman ties his boat, to prevent the boat from drifting away. I really liked the silhouette of the boat and the reflection. Somehow it looks better before I resized it. The original photo looks much sharper.
You know, without the boat silhoutte in the picture, the photo would've been somewhat dull I suppose. It does add to the character of the photo. *smiles* But for me I do believe the contrast is a tiny bit overdone in my opinion. The immense red and orange colours in the photo gives a somewhat fierce impression to the shot. But nevertheless I think everything else seemed to work.
