Photographer's Comments
This photo was taken in my house using a DIY Lightbox. The lighting is somewhat not bring enough, hence the shadow on the sides are visible. Camera was mounted on a tripod as to minimize handshake due to small aperture used for this shot. Comments on how to improve this photo, composition wise or post processing is highly appreciated.

Anon,

You're right. The lighting is a bit off. The shadows at the edge of the photo can easily be dimished with PP using the eraser tool. For these kinda shots, I think it's best if you base your research on fashion mags. Their photographers are great at taking photos of products (as should be the case). For this photo you should shift the position of the perfume bottle a bit more to the right so the label on the box is completely visible. *smile*
Elixelle,
I did try to remove the shadow. But couldn't seem to find the right tool to do so. Now I know its the eraser tool. Will try and PP it further. Sorry about the fashion magazine, don't buy them. Maybe I can 'borrow' some from you.
*wink*
Hi Sharma!
This 365 crazy project is Great! I love it! =)
Anyway, my thoughts about this shot:
The shadow on the left side of the photo are way off and I think there's too much light on the right side. (or maybe its just my monitor) And also, I think, it might be great if you fix the perfume carton properly. =)
Thanks! Keep on shooting!
hi shar..
looking at ur pics from my laptop... not bad i can say.. true enuff, lighting is a bit off.. but still... for starters.. ur doing well..
keep on clicking!

Amy,
Nothing wrong with your monitor there. Its the photo (and the photographer) that is wrong. Hehehe.. I agree, the lighting is a way off. Need to adjust them properly next time. Thanks for dropping by. My regards to JL.
littlemissmuppet,
thanks for the comments. Will work on the lighting further.
since u commented on ur own photo, then i think i'll leave a few words too.
personally, i like the shadow on both sides. maybe just control the light and get an even shadows. if the background is just plain white, i think the subject will become "floating". but then again, i dont read fashion magazine too, so i dont really know. :)
(anyway, i like ur diy lightbox. maybe u could put a little space on this blog for all the gadgets used for this project? tripod, lightbox, lens etc...)
hehehe... borrow some of mine? if you're really interested, i've got tons of mags to clear out... i've done half of it already but i've still got some old ones left...
Great collection, Sharma.
This post here is very similar to a post I was planning to put on mine in the next few days. I can't wait to see what other interesting subjects you decide to use for the rest of the year.
